Cancer Specialist Nursing Care Improves Patients’ Hospital Experience

University of Southampton research shows significance of cancer specialist nursing care in hospital settings

In a study of data from the 2010 National Cancer Patient Experience Survey, researchers from the University of Southampton determined that when patients diagnosed with cancer received care at a hospital employing cancer specialist nurses, they reported a sense of teamwork among the nursing staff and a feeling of emotional support during treatments.

The study is published in the Journal of Health Services Research and Policy.
