On behalf of the Editorial Board of The Oncology Nurse-APN/NP (TON), I would like to extend an invitation to each and every member of our oncology nursing community to contribute to TON. We all have a best practice, a unique case study, a personal story to share. Sharing your professional experiences on our site and in our pages will strengthen our ability to care for patients and sustain our resolve to provide excellent care, all while enriching the oncology nursing literature.
There are many topics you might consider. Below, I provide a call for papers by topics as well as a link to our submission portal.
Working in healthcare comes with stress but also moments of incredible purpose and accomplishment. Journaling about the highs and lows of our chosen profession can go a long way to reduce stress and burnout.
The publisher of TON invites you to share stories of your most challenging and/or proudest days. Perhaps it was the same day. We also welcome your stories of self-care and how you avoid burnout.
A hallmark of oncology nursing is mitigating side effects associated with treatments. TON welcomes articles on best practices in side effect management.
Do you have a process improvement plan for administering treatment? A strategy on improving treatment adherence or preventing treatment-related side effects? You might have advice on managing patient expectations related to treatment.
We invite you to share your best practices with the TON Community.
There are many unique nursing considerations when caring for special populations, such as adolescents and young adults, patients with comorbidities, elderly patients, and underserved populations.
TON welcomes commentaries on the strategies you employ to best serve these populations.
This department is devoted to advanced practice providers to include nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
We’d like to hear about your typical day in the clinic and about your professional relationship with your MD partner. To what extent do you have autonomy? Are you provided with adequate guidance by your clinical partner to effectively care for your patients? What aspects of your collaboration are successful, and what improvements could be made to enhance patient care?
TON welcomes assessments of your practice, your impact on patients’ survivorship, quality-of-life measures, and psychosocial support measures.
We always appreciate hearing from you and look forward to your submissions!
